Second-half goals give TU 4-1 victory over Panthers

Tiffin University (7-1-2, 6-0-2 G-MAC) scored three second-half goals to beat Ohio Dominican 4-1 on the road.

The Dragons were forced to come from behind when the Panthers got on the board in the 9th minute on a goal by Evan French.

Despite holding a 9-3 first-half shot advantage, TU did not manage to equalize until the 41st minute when Noah Purtz took a pass from Davide Frezzi and scored to make the score 1-1 at halftime.

The Dragons took control in the second half, racing to an 11-3 shot edge and also taking 5 corner kicks in the final 45 minutes. 

Tiffin took the lead for good in the 54th minute when Amara Kamara scored on another pass from Frezzi.

They expanded their lead with a goal in the 76th minute by Malvin Gblah and a final goal in the 82nd minute when Grayson Stanford took a pass from Thierry van den Bergh and buried it in the back of the net.

Overall TU outshot the Panthers 20-6 and did not allow a corner kick to ODU, holding a 6-0 edge.

Felix Graf got the win in goal, making 3 saves over 90 minutes. TU's defense allowed only 4 shots on goal for the game.

TU now takes to the road to face Ashland on Oct. 11 in a 6:30 pm contest.
