Second-half goals lift Dragons over Trojans 2-1

Tiffin University (2-1, 1-0 G-MAC) played a man down but still scored two second-half goals to defeat Trevecca Nazarene 2-1 in its conference opener.

At the 22:18 mark of the first half, Tiffin landed a red card for a serious foul play, causing them to play a man down for the remainder of the contest. Even so, the Dragons managed to outshot Trevecca Nazarene 5-3 in the half before the half ended in a 0-0 draw.

Tiffin got on the board quickly in the second half, though, as Thierry van den Bergh took a pass from Zach Garcia and struck it home for the first goal of the game in the 50th minute.

The Dragons added to the lead in the 60th minute when Garcia got another pass across to Malvin Gblah, who scored to put the Dragons ahead 2-0.

Trevecca outshot TU 11-5 in the second half and kept the pressure on, finally scoring a goal in the 87th minute on a shot by Connor Lundy but the Dragons held on to preserve the victory.

Overall Tiffin only had 2 shots on goal over 90 minutes but struck gold with both of them. For the game TU was outshot 14-10.

Felix Graf got the win in goal, making 2 saves as the Dragons allowed only three shots on goal for the game.
