Dragons down Davenport 4-1 in season opener

Tiffin University (1-0) jumped out to an early lead and raced to a 4-1 win on the road at Davenport in its season opener.

Tiffin totaled three goals in the first half, including its first goal in the 4th minute when Zach Garcia took a pass from Caleb Gibbons and knocked it home on a low left shot to lead 1-0.

The Dragons scored their next two goals in quick succession, with Chewe Mukuka tallying an unassisted goal in the 24th minute and Luke Alexander-Frost handling a pass from Jahzihno O'Garro with another shot low left just four minutes later as TU jumped ahead 3-0 at halftime.

Tiffin got its final goal in the 48th minute when Garcia got his second goal of the game, scoring on an unassisted goal on a shot that sailed into the net high center.

Felix Graf got the win in goal, making just 2 saves over 90 minutes. 

The Dragons outshot Davenport 10-7 including an 8-3 margin in shots on goal.

Tiffin now travels to Saginaw Valley State for a 12 pm game on Sept. 9.
