Tiffin University (3-2-2, 2-0-1 GLIAC) battled back twice from deficits, forcing overtime before settling for a 2-2 tie with 13th-ranked Saginaw Valley State.
The game started inauspiciously for Tiffin, as they allowed a goal in the 2nd minute of play on Connor Rutz's shot from the left side into the upper right 90 to jump ahead 1-0.
TU equalized in the 31st minute, as a hand ball in the box gave TU's Abdoul Magid Sy a penalty kick which he drilled home to make it 1-1.
After halftime, Azaad Liadi scored on a breakaway in front of the net to put SVSU up 2-1. It was a lead they maintained until less than 5 minutes remained in regulation.
Charles Rolls delivered a perfectly placed free kick to Matthew Tait, who used his height to head home the game-tying goal and force overtime.
The Dragons defense continued to play well, limiting the Cardinals to just 1 shot in each overtime period. TU had a couple shots in the first overtime period but saves were made to preserve the tie.
In all, TU allowed just 3 total shots on goal in the game, but only one shot on goal over the final 65 minutes of play.
TU outshot SVSU 15-11 and held a 9-7 edge in corner kicks. Cary Wilson made 1 save over 110 minutes while allowing 2 goals.
