Tiffin University (1-2-1) knew it had its hands full against top-ranked Charleston, and, despite nearly matching the Eagles in total shots, the Dragons fell 4-0.
Overall Charleston edged TU 8-7 in shots, but the Eagles allowed only two shots on goal and no corner kicks in the game. They held a 7-2 edge on shots on goal while also taking 6 corners.
Charleston got two quick goals, scoring on headers in the 9th and 11th minutes. They tacked on another goal in the 35th minute to take a comfortable 3-0 lead into halftime.
Cary Wilson took the loss in goal for TU, making 3 saves and allowing 4 goals in 90 minutes.
TU will now open GLIAC play with road trips to Davenport and Purdue Northwest next week.
