Dragons Succumb to Second Half Comeback in 74-69 Defeat
The Dragons (5-2 Overall) were unable to hold off the visiting Warriors of Wayne State in a 74-69 defeat on Saturday afternoon.
Tiffin forced the opposition into 19 total turnovers but were outrebounded 41-26 in total.
A back and forth first half was capped by a three-pointer from Brandon Swaby to give the Dragons the lead at the break 38-35.
The Warriors came out hot, going on a 15-2 run to open the half and take a 50-40 lead. TU slowly chipped away at the deficit and pulled to within two on a three by Carius Key with just over a minute remaining. That is as close as the Dragons came however as Wayne State held on for the victory.
Wesley Jordan led the way in scoring with 16 points and added a team-high four steals on the defensive end. Joshua Rivers contributed 11 points and tied for the team-high in assists with Morgan Taylor, each with five. Swaby came off the bench to add nine points and lead the team in total rebounds with six.
The Dragons have a weeklong break before hosting Ohio Dominican on Saturday, December 9th.
