The Tiffin University men's basketball team was defeated by Lake Erie 70-57.
The Dragons were outscored in the second half 44-25, shooting 31.3 percent from the field and 9.1 percent from three-point range, compared to the Storm who shot 46.7 percent from the field and 21.1 percent from beyond the arc.
The Storm improve to 5-3 overall and 1-2 in the GMAC, while the Dragons fall to 2-4 overall and 1-2 in the GMAC.
A low-scoring game led to the Storm leading 8-4 in the first several minutes of play. The Dragons rallied back with a 4-0 run to tie the game at 8-8, but Lake Erie built up another four-point lead, bringing the score to 12-8.
Tiffin was able to take the lead with a 6-2 run to lead 23-20, but the Storm powered back to lead 24-23. The Dragons outscored the host in the last four minutes of play 9-2 to lead 32-26 going into the locker room.
Second half adjustments saw the Storm rally back with a 10-4 run tying the game at 36-36. However, the Dragons were able to build up a 6-0 run to regain the lead at 47-41. With Tiffin leading 49-43 the Storm rallied for a 15-0 run to lead 58-49, the largest lead by either team, with 5:16 left in the game.
Tiffin's offense was led by Tanner Johnson with 12 points shooting 5-for-9 from the field, 2-for-5 from beyond the arc, and grabbed three rebounds, followed by Wesley Jordan who tallied 11 points shooting 5-for-6 from the field, registered two rebounds, and one block. Morgan Taylor recorded nine points shooting 4-for-11 from the field, had eight rebounds, and three assists.
