The Tiffin University men's basketball team lost 70-69 to Trevecca Nazarene.
Three-point shooting was the difference as the Trojans shot 52.4 percent compared to the Dragons 25 percent.
The Trojans improve to 4-14 overall and 4-12 in the conference while the Dragons drop to 5-10 overall and 5-10 in the conference.
Trevecca went up early on the back of a 15-4 run but the Dragons fought back with a 7-0 run to bring the score to 15-11. However, the Trojans pulled away to go into the half up 43-29. The Trojans shot well from three-point range shooting 9-for-13 and 65.4 percent from the field compared to the Dragons 4-for-16.
The Dragons came out after the half with a long 19-7 run through the first ten minutes of the second half to come within four of Trevecca, 52-48. The Trojans countered with an 8-2 run to go up 60-50.
With 20 seconds remaining and the Trojans leading 70-67, the Dragons had a chance for a final shot. The Dragons missed a three point attempt with 2 seconds left. Wesley Jordan's rebound and putback as time expired left the Dragons short by one point.
Thomas Hickman led the Dragons in scoring with a career-high 22 points shooting 8-for-9 from the field, two rebounds, two steals, and two assists. Dalaino Walker came off the bench to score 15 points going 3-for-3 from beyond the arc, grabbed four rebounds, one block, and one assist, and teammate Trent Williams registered 14 points, four rebounds, five assists, and two steals.
