Boswell named pitching coach for Tiffin baseball staff

Michael Boswell has been named pitching coach for Tiffin University's baseball coaching staff.

Boswell enters his second year with the Dragon coaching staff in 2023-24. This marks Boswell's first year as the Dragon pitching coach, after spending the 2022-23 year as a graduate assistant. In this role, Boswell ran the program's strength and conditioning program and assisted with the pitching staff.  

Boswell recently served as the Field Manager for the Chillicothe Paints. During the 2023 summer, the Paints led the Prospect League in offense, his pitching staff finished second in team ERA, and his team was able to win their second consecutive Prospect League Championship.

Prior to joining the Dragons coaching staff, Boswell had one of the most decorated careers as a Dragons hurler from 2017-2022. In 2017, Boswell was named GLIAC Freshman Pitcher of the Year while compiling a 6-1 record. In 2021, Boswell was named Second Team ALL-G-MAC after going 7-1 with a 3.20 ERA. In 2022, Boswell etched his name into the Tiffin University record books, becoming the career leader for wins (26), career strikeouts (277), single-season strikeouts (98), and single-game strikeouts (16), along with multiple other records. Boswell was selected to the D2CCA All-American Team, NCBWA All-Region Team, NCBWA Regional Pitcher of the Year, D2CCCA All-Midwest Region Team, G-MAC Pitcher of the Year, and multiple G-MAC Pitcher of the Week nods.

Boswell is a 2021 graduate of Tiffin University with a degree in Athletic Administration. He also holds a Master of Business Administration from TU.
