Volleyball Falls 3-1 to Walsh

The Tiffin University volleyball team (9-11, 4-6 GMAC) fell to Walsh in conference action.

The Cavaliers won 16-25, 25-23, 25-14, and 25-18.

The Dragons started strong going up 6-3, but the Cavaliers fought back to tie the game at 8-8. TU went on a 4-0 run to lead 16-10 midway through the set. The Dragons outscored the visitors the rest of the set and won 25-16.

Walsh turned it on in the second set as they led 16-6. The Dragons went on a scorching 9-2 run to cut the lead to 18-15. Tiffin followed that with another 6-1 run to come within one point of the Cavaliers at 22-21. Walsh outscored TU 3-1 to win the second set 25-23.

A close start to set three, as the teams were tied at 7-7. Walsh went on a 5-1 run to lead 12-8 and went on to win the set 25-14.

Tiffin started the fourth set strong and built a 6-2 lead. The Cavaliers countered with a 5-0 run to take a 7-6 lead. The two teams were just two points apart until Walsh went on a 6-0 run to lead 23-15. Walsh went on to win the fourth set 25-18.

Tiffin's offense was led by Josie Reinhart with 16 kills, a .190 hitting percentage, two digs, and two block assists, Taylor Peterson recorded 15 kills, a .256 hitting percentage, five digs, one block assist, and one solo block, and Kenedi Goon tallied nine kills, with a .212 hitting percentage, eight digs, and four block assists.

Clare Kwiatkowski recorded 42 assists and 16 digs and teammate Diana Heitkamp had 20 digs, one assist, and one kill.
