Dragons Win 3-1 on Senior Day

The Tiffin University women's volleyball team won 3-1 against Kentucky Wesleyan on Senior Day.

The Dragons improve to 13-17 overall and 7-9 in the GMAC, while the Panthers fell to 2-25 overall and 0-16 in the GMAC.

In the first set, the Dragons were able to build a 12-8 lead early, and after a small 3-1 rally by the Panthers, outscored Kentucky Wesleyan 10-4 to lead 22-14. Tiffin won the first set 25-18.

Tiffin jumped ahead 6-2 early in set two but the Panthers went on an 8-3 run to lead 11-9. The Dragons countered with a 3-0 run to lead 12-11. The two teams traded points until the Panthers went on a 4-0 run to lead 19-17. The Dragons rallied 3-0 to take a 20-19 lead, but the Panthers outscored Tiffin 6-2 the rest of the set to win 25-22.

In set three Kentucky Wesleyan went up 4-2 early, but Tiffin responded with a 6-0 run to take an 8-4 lead. A 7-1 run from the Panthers saw them grab a 12-10 lead and keep that lead until the Dragons rallied 8-2 to close out set three with a 25-18 win. 

The Dragons came out hot in the fourth set, building up a 20-8 lead. The Panthers had a late 9-4 surge, but the Dragons won the fourth set 25-18. 

Taylor Peterson led the Dragon offense with 10 kills, a .385 hitting percentage, nine digs, two service aces, 0.5 blocks, and an assist, Kenedi Goon recorded nine kills with a .250 hitting percentage, two digs, and two block assists, and Alivia Rew tallied five kills with a .625 hitting percentage and 1.5 blocks.

The seniors were led by Grace Schreiber who had six kills with a .136 hitting percentage, four block assists, two digs, and three service aces, Loryn Huffman registered 33 assists, five digs, two kills, and one block assist, and Sam Fallis recorded 17 digs and four assists.
