The Tiffin University volleyball team heads on the road two face two GMAC opponents. First, they travel to conference rival Findlay on Friday, Oct. 22 for a 7 p.m. start time. Then, on Saturday, Oct. 23 they battle reigning GMAC champs Hillsdale in a 1 p.m. start.

Dragon Details:

The Dragons went 3-0 last week with wins over Parkside, William Jewell, and McKendree in the Midwest Region Crossover Tournament. 

The Dragons are led by Wakaya Wilson who averages 2.85 kills with a .191 hitting percentage and 2.16 digs, and teammate Taylor Peterson with 2.31 kills with a .237 hitting percentage, and 0.99 digs. Loryn Huffman averages 9.08 assists, 3.15 digs, and 0.68 kills and is the reigning South Division Offensive Player of the Week. Sam Fallis leads the GMAC in digs with 5.33 per set and leads the team in service aces with 21 and was named to the Midwest Region Crossover All-Tournament team.

 

Scouting the Oilers:

Findlay went 0-3 last week in the Midwest Region Crossover Tournament.

The Oilers are led by Journey Blevins with 4.40 kills with a .269 hitting percentage and 0.71 digs, and Hannah Warrington recorded 2.47 kills with .196 hitting percentage and 1.10 digs per set. Abigail Schroeder leads the team with 10.92 assists and 1.73 digs.

The Oilers lead the all-time series against the Dragons 15-6, with their last meeting coming on March 9, 2021 when the Dragons won 3-1 in the GMAC quarterfinals.

 

Scouting the Chargers:

Hillsdale went 2-1 last week with a win against Indianapolis and Lewis in the Midwest Region Crossover Tournament.

The Cardinals are led by Karoline Shelton who averages 3.70 kills with a .286 hitting percentage and 4.16 digs, Allyssa Van Wienen averages 3.04 kills with a .346 hitting percentage, 1.15 blocks, and 0.72 digs, and Lindsey Mertz leads the team in assists with 11.26 assists, 0.59 kills and 2.26 digs.

The Chargers lead the all-time series against the Dragons 19-2, with their last meeting coming on March 13, 2021 when the Chargers won 3-1 in the GMAC Championship game.
