Dragons Defeat Wisconsin-Parkside in Five Sets

The Tiffin University volleyball team defeated Wisconsin-Parkside 3-2. 

In the first set, the Rangers jumped out to an 11-6 lead and extended their lead to as many as 17-9. Tiffin didn't give up though and rallied, outscoring Parkside 12-4 to tie the game at 21-21. They then closed out the first set, winning 25-22. 

Again in set two, the Rangers led early 8-5, but the Dragons clawed back to come within one at 12-11. Parkside then went on an 8-1 run to lead 21-12. The Dragons were unable to mount a comeback and the Rangers took set two 25-14. 

The Dragons' offense awoke in the third set taking an 8-4 lead early, but the Rangers came back to come within one of Tiffin. The Dragons countered with a 5-0 run to lead 16-10. TU then built up another lead on a 7-2 run to lead 22-17. The Rangers wouldn't go away as they went on a 7-0 run to take a 24-23 lead. The Dragons outscored Parkside 3-1 to win the third set 26-24.

Parkside led 11-6 early in the fourth set, but Tiffin countered with a 3-0 run to bring the score to 12-9. The Rangers extended their lead going up 18-11, but the Dragons countered, outscoring the Rangers 13-6 to tie the game at 24-24. Parkside won the last two points to win set four 26-24. 

The Rangers went up 3-1 in the fifth set, and went on a 5-3 run to lead 8-6, then closed out the set with a 7-2 run to win the fifth and final set 15-8.

Taylor Peterson led the Tiffin offense recording 21 kills with a .405 hitting percentage, three digs, two blocks, and two service aces. Kenedi Goon tallied 12 kills with a .233 hitting percentage and three blocks. Loryn Huffman registered 49 assists, 12 digs, two blocks, and two service aces and teammate Sam Fallis had 21 digs, four assists, and a service ace.
