The Tiffin University volleyball team fell in four to Cedarville, 19-25, 28-26, 27-29, and 19-25.
The Yellow Jackets outhit the Dragons, recording 65 kills with a .216 hitting percentage compared to the Dragons' 58 kills and a .129 hitting percentage.
A close first match as the two teams were neck and neck until the Yellow Jackets went on a 5-0 run to lead 16-10. The Dragons countered with a 7-3 run to come within two of Cedarville. However, the Yellow Jackets ended the first set with a 6-1 run to win 25-18.
The Dragons jumped to an early lead, winning 10-6 in the second set and increasing their lead further up 17-10. The Yellow Jackets chipped away at the Dragons' lead and tied the game at 24-24, but the Dragons won the second set 28-26.
Cedarville jumped to a 6-3 lead but the Dragons went on a 5-1 run to lead 8-7. The Yellow Jackets responded with a 5-1 run of their own to lead 12-9 and held a lead until the Dragons went on a 6-1 run to take a 19-18 lead in the third set. Cedarville fought back and a 3-0 run helped end the third set with a 29-27 win.
The Yellow Jackets jumped out to a 7-3 lead, but the Dragons countered with a 4-0 run to tie the set at 7-7. Cedarville went on an 8-2 run to lead 17-10. The teams traded points but Tiffin was unable to string a run together and Cedarville won the fourth set 25-19.
Grace Schreiber led Tiffin with 15 points on13 kills with a .143 hitting percentage, one service ace, two block assists, and five digs, followed by Alicia Kessler with 14 points with 13 kills and a .109 hitting percentage, two block assists, and two digs. Olivia Karhoff had 12.5 points with 10 kills and a .258 hitting percentage, one solo block, three block assists, 13 digs, and 2 assists.
Loryn Huffman had 46 assists on the night with six kills, one service ace, and 16 digs and teammate Sam Fallis tallied 34 digs, one assist, and one service ace.
