No. 19 Tiffin Defeats Malone 3-0

The No. 19 Tiffin University volleyball team defeated Malone 3-0. The Dragons' offense led them to victory as they had 50 kills with a 0.286 hitting percentage compared to the Pioneers who had 29 kills with a 0.115 hitting percentage.  

The Dragons improve to 5-1 overall and 5-1 in the conference while the Pioneers fall to 1-5 overall and 1-5 in the conference. 

In the first set the Dragons started with a 13-4 run early. Tiffin kept this up the whole set as Alicia Kessler sealed the 25-13 win with two kills. 

A more competitive second set opened with the two teams tied at 11-11 but a kill from Grace Schreiber sparked a 5-0 run to give Tiffin a 16-11 lead. Tiffin was able to hold off the Pioneers late with a 4-2 run to win 25-18. 

The Dragons went up 3-0 early then extended their lead to 12-8. The Pioneers went on a 4-0 run to tie the set at 12 all. Tiffin countered with a 7-1 run to lead 19-14, a lead they held as the Dragons won the final set 25-19. 

Grace Schreiber led the team registering 14.5 points with 12 kills and a .478 hitting percentage, three digs, three block assists, and one service ace. Alicia Kessler tallied 11.5 points on 11 kills with a .364 hitting percentage, one dig, and one block assist, and teammate Olivia Karhoff recorded 11 points with 10 kills and a .292 hitting percentage, seven digs, and two block assists. 

Sam Fallis led both teams with 22 digs and four assists, while Loryn Huffman had 44 assists, two kills, eight digs, and one block assist.
