Huffman Receives GMAC Weekly Honor

INDIANAPOLIS - The Great Midwest Athletic Conference (GMAC) has released the Volleyball Athletes of the Week for Oct. 21-27, and Tiffin senior Jenna Huffman has received the award for her efforts in the Dragons' win over Cedarville on Friday.

Huffman continued her stellar senior campaign this week by leading the Dragons to a 3-0 sweep of the Yellow Jackets to take over sole possession of third place in the conference standings, breaking a tie with the Cedarville.

The middle hitter led the team in kills with 16 while hitting .342 and recording nine digs and three blocks.

With her fourth kill of the match during the first set, Huffman also became just the second player in Tiffin volleyball history to surpass the 1,500 career kills mark.

The senior is having one of the best seasons of any volleyball player in Division II, as she is leading the GMAC and second in the nation with 4.50 kills per set and 5.13 points per set. She is also first in the country in total kills with 369.

This award marks the second time that Huffman has received a GMAC weekly honor in 2019, and is the fifth time in the last two seasons.
