ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Tiffin women's track & field competed at the University of Michigan's Silverston Invitational on Friday night, earning one automatic qualifying mark and five additional provisional marks among a field of competition primarily made up of Division I athletes.
The Dragons will now try to defend their conference title next Friday and Saturday when Tiffin hosts the GMAC Indoor Championships in the Heminger Center.
Automatic Qualifiers
- Marisa Gwinner won the high jump with a clearance of 1.76 meters, equalling her PR, TU, and GMAC record mark
Provisional Marks
- Tatiyana Cooper-Laylor took second in the 60m final with a PR time of 7.57 seconds, tied for fourth-best in GMAC history
- Keyonna McGill tied for third in the 60m with a time of 7.60 seconds, seventh-best in GMAC history
- Madeline Hayes won the pole vault with a clearance of 3.88 meters, increasing her Tiffin record in the event
- Nicole Berry placed second in the shot put with a mark of 14.59 meters
- Brenda Johnson tied for third in the shot put with a heave of 14.45 meters
Additional Highlights
- Keyonna McGill won the 400m with a time of 56.86 seconds
- Tiffin's 4x400m squad of Alexya Peoples, Keyonna McGill, Rajiah Andrews, and Tatiyana Cooper-Laylor won the race with a time of 4:00.29
- Mercedeez Francis took third in the high jump with a clearance of 1.66 meters
