Dragons win four three-set matches to clip Warriors 4-3

Tiffin University (3-1) won four three-set singles battles to pull out a tough 4-3 win over Wayne State.

The Dragons opened up with a loss in all three doubles matches. Anais Ruyssen/Marta Komar defeated Carina Avram/Emily Barrett 6-1, Linda Liong/Laura Cazacu beat Anaelle Lepinay/Allessandra Maganuco 6-3, and Suki Mandair/Brianna Douglas shut down Shea Foster/Jessica Peace 6-4.

TU picked up the victory in dramatic fashion in their four singles victories. Carina Avram clinched the victory for TU, picking up the final singles victory with a tough win over Marta Komar 6-2, 1-6, 7-6. Emily Barrett battled back from one set down to also win in thrilling fashion over Linda Liong 2-6, 6-3, 7-6, while Anaelle Lepinay also came back from a set deficit over Laura Cazacu 2-6, 6-2, 6-2, and Allessandra Maganuco took out Carla Jewell 7-5, 4-6, 6-3.

WSU's Anais Ruyssen defeated Emily Young 6-2, 6-1, while Brianna Douglas (WSUW) got a win via retirement over TU's Sharanya Shetty (5-7, 6-3, 3-1, retired).
