Dragons Give Strong Showing at UNOH Invite

LIMA, Ohio - Tiffin women's tennis took part in another fall tournament over the weekend, battling Walsh, Lawrence Tech, and host UNOH at the UNOH Fall Invite.

Abbie-Jade Riley came back from being down a set and 3-0 in set two to defeat Walsh 6-7 (5), 6-4, 10-7 in the A singles quarterfinal but fell in the semifinals. Emily Sim also also earned a victory in her A singles quarterfinal match, defeating Lawrence Tech 6-3, 6-0 before falling to the eventual champion from Walsh. Riley and Sim were moved to the third-place match, which wasn't played.

Lauren Prince/Riley went 2-1 in A doubles, defeating Walsh 8-6 and Lawrence Tech 8-2.

In B singles, Prince took down Lawrence Tech 7-6 (2), 6-2 to reach the semifinal but fell to the eventual bracket champion from Walsh to move to the third-place match. She would finish third, taking down UNOH 6-1, 6-2. Shea Foster also competed in B singles, taking seventh place following an exciting, back-and-forth contest that she won by a final of 7-6 (5), 1-6, 10-7.

Sim and Foster paired up to battle in B doubles, picking up an 8-6 win over Lawrence Tech.

Aliyah Brown, Dominique Matich-Reynolds, and Bailey Young also competed in C singles while Brown and Matich-Reynolds paired up for C doubles.

The Dragons wrap up their fall season Oct. 4 and 5 at the Charger Invite in Hillsdale, Mich.
