Dragons battle on day three of GMAC/MEC championships

Tiffin University had two top 10 finishes on day three of the GMAC/MEC Swim and Dive Championships.

Individually Leah Mathy came in 10th in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:17.69. Katie Tiell also came in 21st in the same race in 5:28.87.

Tiffin's highest finish on the day came from the 800 free relay team of Tiell, Madalyn Stierwalt, Alaina Wittum, and Mathy. They finished 8th overall in 8:26.16.

Tiffin's other top finishers on day three were Wittum in the 100 backstroke in 1:02.85, and Kory Ulrich in the 200 butterfly in 2:35.10.

Tiffin remained in 9th place of 13 teams after day three with 253 points. Hillsdale continues to battle with Findlay for the top spot, leading 1294 to 1164.5 heading into the final day. The championships conclude on Feb. 15.
