Two Tiffin University wrestlers saw action on the final day of the Midwest Classic, with Nicholas Mason and Bryan LaVearn both placing at the event.

Mason finished third, dropping just one match out of seven. After his narrow 9-8 loss to Gino Sita of Alderson Broaddus, Mason won four in a row. He pinned Colorado Mesa in 2:13, got major decisions over Ashland 13-3 and Wisconsin-Parkside 11-3, and then defeated Sita in a rematch for third place via pin in 5:44.

LaVearn, meanwhile, opened the day unbeaten after going 3-0 on day one. Close decisions went against him on day two, though, as he fell in the championship semifinals to Wisconsin-Parkside 6-3 and then fell to Indianapolis 3-2. In the fifth place match, he fell by medical forfeit to Ashland.

Overall TU finished 15th of 41 teams with 48 points. Central Oklahoma won the Classic with 106.5 points.
