Nicholas Mason has been named GMAC Wrestler of the Week.

Mason is on an absolute warpath after pinning all of his opponents in the Heminger Center during Super Region III competition on Saturday.

Mason punched his ticket to nationals along with teammate Bryan LaVearn (165) and still reigns as the defending national champion at 197 with last year's NCAA Championship cancelled due to COVID-19.

He came in with a 7-1 record, including a conference championship by injury default over Ashland's Peter Abraham. Mason pinned three different opponents in relatively short order after receiving a first-round bye in the bracket as the top seed.

Mason recorded his first fall against Notre Dame's Joe Marcano in under two minutes at the 1:46 mark. He scored his next pin over conference counterpart Chris Droege from Lake Erie in 3:37.

In the Super Region final, Mason had another pin before the first period ended with a 2:50 stick over West Liberty's Logan Kemp.
