Five Tiffin University men's wrestling standouts have landed NWCA All American honors after their strong 2019-20 seasons.

Nicholas Mason, Trey Grine, Bryan LaVearn, Chris Donathan, and Hayden Bronne all earned the honor with their qualification to the NCAA National Wrestling Championships. The event was cancelled due to the global coronavirus pandemic, but the NWCA recognized all the qualifiers as honorees.

"With the cancellation of the national tournament the NWCA Division II leadership group thought it was still very appropriate to name All-Americans this year. The leadership group did a great job of weighing different options and polling the membership.  We are happy that we can make the most out of an incredibly unfortunate situation. Although this is not the same as having a national tournament, these individuals should be recognized for their amazing season results and super-regional tournaments. Congratulations to the 2020 All-Americans and National Qualifiers. "

Jason Warthan, NWCA Division II President & University of Indianapolis Head Coach

Hayden Bronne enjoyed a record-setting season in Division II, repeating as winner of the most falls category. The 174-pounder set a record as his 20 falls are the most in Division II history. Bronne also finished second on the team in wins (25-6) and points (434.5). He is also second in Tiffin career pins with 64. He was the GMAC Wrestler of the Year and is a two-time First Team pick. He is also a three-time Regional placer.

Chris Donathan won the Region Championship to earn his Nationals berth. He was 26-5 overall and led the team in takedowns with 62.

Bryan LaVearn is a three-time Regional qualifier and a First Team All GMAC pick. He led the team with a 34-12 record and 547 points.

Trey Grine is a four-time Nationals and Regional qualifier along with three First Team All Conference selections. He was 22-1 on the season, and finished amongst national leaders in Tech Falls and Most Dominant.

Nicholas Mason also won the Region Championship to head to Nationals, where he anticipated defending his 197 pound National Championship from 2019. He is a two-time Nationals and three-time Regional qualifier who also earned a First Team All Conference nod. He finished 25-6 with 515 points.
