Dragons go pin crazy in big win over Rochester

Tiffin University lived up to its 8th-ranked reputation, easily crushing Rochester 49-4 behind seven wins by fall.

Opening at 165 pounds, Bryan LaVearn got things off on the right note with a big 12-5 victory.

Then the pins started, as national falls leader Hayden Bronne increased his national lead with a pin at 174 pounds in 1:33. 

Richard Screptock (184 pounds) kept the train rolling, nearly matching Bronne with a pin in 2:09.

Nicolas Smythe (197) had the night's fastest fall, dispatching his opponent in 52 seconds, while David Henson followed right behind at 285 pounds with a powerful fall in 2:18.

Leading 27-0, the Dragons suffered their lone setback on the night as Nathaniel Stubblefield (125) fell in a major decision 13-5. Rico Puente (133) wasted no time getting TU back in the pinning mood, aggressively taking down his opponent in 1:33.

Dylan Mansor (141) had little trouble, recording numerous four-point near falls en route to a 15-1 major decision.

Christopher Donathan (149) dominated his weight class, blasting out to a 56 second pin victory heading into the night's final contest.

Trey Grine (157) recorded his 100th career victory, wearing down his opponent and eventually pinning him in 3:32 to end the night for the Warriors.
