Dragons fall to 11th-ranked Florida Southern 18-7

Tiffin University (1-7) could not keep pace with 11th-ranked Florida Southern, falling on a cold day 18-7.

With wind chills around 15 degrees, the temperature did not cool off the Mocs' offense, as they opened with a 9-1 first-quarter edge. 

Trailing 1-0, TU got on the board when Gabby Wilson scored off a pass from Daniela Carey to tie it 1-1. The Mocs responded with 11 straight goals to jump ahead 12-1 early in the second quarter.

Angela Lulejian scored a free position goal for TU's second goal, making the score 14-2 at halftime.

Florida Southern pushed its lead to 17-3 midway through the third period. Carey added her own free position goal, while Rylee Sutherland also scored in the third quarter for Tiffin's lone goals in the quarter.

Tiffin picked up three more goals in the final quarter, with Lulejian and Sutherland tacking on goals along with Jenny Bates.

Jenay Rennie took the loss in goal, making 14 saves over 60 minutes.

Lulejian and Sutherland each had 2 goals for TU, while Bates and Carey had a goal and assist apiece. Wilson also had a goal along with 8 draw controls.

Overall the Mocs outshot TU 45-14 including 35-5 in the first half. TU had 16 turnovers to Florida Southern's 6 while the Mocs won the draw controls 17-11.
