Dragons win GMAC opener 18-7 over Storm

Tiffin University (1-6) opened with a strong first half and controlled the tempo in their GMAC opener, beating Lake Erie on the road 18-7.

TU opened with an 8-1 first-quarter advantage, scoring four times in the first 5:50 on goals by Rylee Sutherland, Daniela Carey, Angela Lulejian, and Isabella Piccione. Before the quarter ended, Lulejian tacked on another goal and Gabby Wilson scored twice behind a 10-2 shot edge.

Three more goals early in the second quarter pushed TU's lead to 11-1, leading to an 11-3 halftime lead.

Tiffin eventually outshot Lake Erie 27-16, putting 23 of those shots on goal. They also forced 11 Storm turnovers while committing only 4 of their own.

Lulejian led the team with 4 goals and an assist, while Wilson finished with 3 goals and 10 draw controls. Jenny Bates also had 3 goals.

Daniela Carey added to the attack with 3 goals, an assist, and 4 ground balls, while Rylee Sutherland had a goal and 3 assists. Caylin Kunze and Hannah Unkefer also had goals.

Jenay Rennie got her first win of the season in goal, making 3 saves.
