5th-ranked Lindenwood races past Dragons 21-3

Tiffin University knew it would have its hands full taking on 5th-ranked Lindenwood in their first road contest of 2020, and the host team did not disappoint as they handed TU its first loss of the season 21-3.

Lindenwood exploded out of the gate, scoring 7 unanswered goals to open the game. 

Elle Hamilton got Tiffin's first and only goal of the first half on a free position shot at the 8:22 mark. Lindenwood followed with three more goals to take a 10-1 halftime lead.

Lindenwood held a big 18-6 edge in shots and a 9-3 lead in draw controls at the break.

Hamilton added another free position goal to start the scoring in the second half, but Lindenwood was unfazed, responding with four goals. 

Hamilton completed the hat trick with another goal midway through the second half, with Lindenwood holding TU off the scoreboard the rest of the way while adding seven more goals to finish the game.

Overall Lindenwood held a 31-9 shot advantage and 19-7 lead in draws. They also scooped up 15 ground balls to Tiffin's 8.

Maeve Gatenbee and Alex Sklack split time in goal, each playing 30 minutes. Gatenbee allowed 10 goals with 4 saves while Sklack allowed 11 goals with 1 save.

TU now stays on the road to take on Slippery Rock at 4 pm on March 4.
