Dragons scorch Rams 15-5

Tiffin University (4-3) took a methodical approach against Shepherd University, starting slowly but amassing an insurmountable lead 15-5 at Frost Kalnow Stadium.

TU had little trouble dictating the tempo in the game but took considerable time getting their offense into rhythm. They opened with Morgan Sherley's goal just 75 seconds into play but had managed to build only a 3-2 lead with 12:31 left in the opening half.

TU closed the half strong, scoring the last five goals of the half over the remaining time to take a 7-2 lead into the break. Sherley and Elle MacMillan each had 2 goals to lead. TU.

Shepherd scored twice in the opening five minutes of the second half to narrow the score to 8-4, but TU put the game away over the next 20 minutes, scoring 7 unanswered goals to jump ahead 15-4.

Tori Nelson led the attack, tallying 2 second half goals, along with bench help from Maddy Batley with 2 goals.

Overall the Dragons controlled the field, outshooting the Rams 34-15 and getting 18 ground balls to Shepherd's 13. They won the draws 13-9, and tallied 9 free position goals. Defensively TU forced 23 Shepherd turnovers.

MacMillan and Nelson finished with 3 goals apiece with Nelson also getting an assist, 3 ground balls and causing 3 turnovers. Amie Morrison, Sherley, and Batley had 2 goals apiece. 

Amanda FlotteronElle Hamilton (assist), and Gina Abulone (2 assists) all had a goal apiece. Randi Castner had 5 draw controls with 3 caused turnovers, while Tiffany Anderson had 4 caused turnovers. Overall TU's defense had 18 caused turnovers.

Kat Schneeberger got the win in goal, making 7 saves and allowing 4 goals over 53 minutes. Amanda Archer played the final 6:34, allowing 1 goal.
