Women's Basketball Falls to Conference Opponent Kentucky Wesleyan

The Tiffin University women's basketball team (5-13, 2-7 G-MAC) fell to conference opponent Kentucky Wesleyan 80-50.

The Dragons jumped out to an early 5-0 lead, but the Panthers came back with a 9-2 run to take a 9-7 lead with 4:40 left in the first quarter. The two teams traded points and tied at 14-14 until Kentucky Wesleyan went on a 4-0 run to close the quarter and take an 18-14 lead.

The Panthers started the second quarter strong, going on an 11-0 run to lead 29-15 through the first four minutes of play. Tiffin responded by going on a 12-7 run to cut the visitor's lead to 36-27. However, Kentucky Wesleyan ended the half up 42-28.

Kentucky Wesleyan kept their momentum from the first half as they outscored the Dragons 6-0 in the first four minutes of the third quarter. The Dragons kept pace with the Panthers for the rest of the third quarter with each team scoring 12 points, bringing the score to 57-40 going into the final frame.

In the fourth quarter, the Panthers outscored the Dragons 23-10 to seal the 80-50 win.

Ellie Gabel led the team with 10 points shooting 4-for-5 from the field and 2-for-3 from beyond the arc, and had one rebound, three assists, and one steal, Savanah Richards scored nine points shooting 4-for-9 from the field, grabbed three rebounds, and one steal, and Kirsten Williams registered seven points shooting 3-for-5 from the field, and four rebounds.
