Nichols Earns GMAC Player of the Week Honors

INDIANAPOLIS - The Great Midwest Athletic Conference (GMAC) announced the Basketball Players of the Week for Feb. 24-Mar.1 this afternoon, and Tiffin standout Aarion Nichols has received the award on the women's side.

Tiffin upset No. 17 Kentucky Wesleyan in double overtime this week in large part due to Nichols' performance, and the win secured the Dragons a spot in the postseason tournament.

The 5-7 guard contributed a 13-point and 15-rebound double-double, while also dishing out five assists.

Nichols continues to be one of the best all-around players in the GMAC as just a sophomore, ranking in the top-12 in the conference in scoring (11th, 14.5 ppg), rebounding (T-5th, 7.6 rpg), assists (T-6th, 3.3 apg), assist-turnover ratio (T-6th, +1.2), and steals (T-11th, 1.6 spg). She has recorded seven double-doubles on the year, all coming in conference play.

The Dragons are slotted as the seven-seed in the conference tournament and will face two-seed Kentucky Wesleyan on Tuesday.

This is the first GMAC Player of the Week honor for Tiffin women's basketball after joining the conference a season ago.
