Fourth Quarter Dooms Dragons at Lake Erie

PAINESVILLE, Ohio - Tiffin women's basketball trailed by just two points to Lake Erie after three quarters, but the Storm pulled away in the final frame to take a 73-59 win on Saturday afternoon.

The Dragons held the lead at halftime, 30-29, behind 12 points from Aarion Nichols, but TU was outscored 26-14 in the fourth as Lake Erie shot 20 free throws in the final 10 minutes.

Tiffin held a 2% advantage from the three-point line, but Lake Erie had the edge from the field 42% to 38%.

Turnovers were even, but Tiffin translated the Lake Erie giveaways into more points to the tune of 19-11. TU's bench also vastly outperformed the Storm's, scoring 27 compared to just five for Lake Erie. 

Nichols led Tiffin with 18 points and three assists, followed by Jasmine Watts with 13 points and three rebounds. Jensen Hiegel tied for the team lead in rebounding with six, while Kirsten Williams also had six boards and eight points. 

The Dragons now have a week before their next contest, as they will host Ohio Dominican next Saturday at 1:00 p.m. in the Team Jacoby Hope Game.
