HILLSDALE, Mich. – Tiffin women's basketball's four-game win streak came to a close on Thursday evening, falling to Hillsdale College 90-72.

Especially in the first-half, Hillsdale shot very well in the game while Tiffin struggled from the three-point line in particular at 3-18 (16.7%). However, the Dragons were only outrebounded by three, and outscored the Chargers 23-11 on second chance opportunities and 46-40 in the paint.

Tiffin also forced 17 Hillsdale turnovers while only committing 11 of their own, leading to a 16-9 advantage in points off turnovers.

Jensen Hiegel led TU in scoring with 14 points, while Aarion Nichols recorded her second career double-double with 10 points and 10 boards.

Mary Redmond also pulled down a Tiffin career-high five rebounds, and Allie Miller moved into eighth all-time in the TU record books for career made three-pointers, making two on the evening for a total of 119 in her Dragon career.

The Dragons fell behind early, as Hillsdale jumped out to an 18-point lead, 31-13, just before the end of the opening quarter.

Tiffin battled back and opened the second quarter on a 10-4 run, cutting the deficit to 10 with a Miller bucket that made it 35-25 in favor of the Chargers. Hillsdale responded with a three that just beat the shot clock, but Miller came right back to drain a triple with a hand in her face to bring the game within 10 once again.

However, the Chargers outscored the Dragons 15-9 over the remainder of the half to take a 53-37 lead into the break.

Hillsdale shot the lights out in the first 20 minutes, making 7 of 9 (77.8%) from the behind the arc and 18 of 29 (62.1%) from the field.

The Dragons were able to cut the margin to 14 with just over a minute remaining in the third quarter, but that was as close as they would come as the Chargers led by as many as 27 before the final horn sounded.

Tiffin looks to bounce back with another tough opponent on Saturday, as they make the very short drive to take on Findlay at 1:00 p.m. The Oilers are currently in third-place in the G-MAC standings, and defeated TU 89-69 when they met in the Gillmor Center back on Nov. 29.
