Dragons Sizzle From The Arc In 71-64 Win

The Tiffin University women's basketball team was on fire from three on Thursday night, hitting a season high 14 three-pointers in their 71-64 victory. The Dragons set a new program record with their 14 made treys, hitting 58.3% of their attempts.

The Panthers held Tiffin scoreless for the first 3:30 of the game, compiling a 9-0 lead. The Panthers maintained their nine point lead, holding a 13-4 advantage with 3:10 remaining. Tiffin found their footing over the final three minutes of action, using a 6-2 run to trail 15-10 after a quarter of play. 

Tiffin really turned up the heat on the offensive end in the 2nd quarter, outscoring the Panthers 15-9 in a little over four minutes to take a 25-24 lead. The Panthers were able to rebound and took a 36-34 lead to halftime.

At the break, Tiffin had hit 7 of 12 triples, and were finding the bottom of the net at a 50% clip. Individually, it was the Kiley May show, pouring in 11 points, six boards, and four assists in the 1st half.

Tiffin continued to singe the net in the 3rd quarter, starting the quarter on a 15-3 run to take a ten point lead at 49-39 with 5:36 remaining. Tiffin kept the Panthers caged for the remainder of the quarter, and took a 59-49 advantage to the final quarter.

Davenport outscored Tiffin in the final quarter, but Tiffin's defense came to play, holding Davenport to only 15 points. The Dragons allowed only one made field goal in the final minute of play as they cruised to a 71-64 victory.

As a team, the Dragons connected on 51.1% of their field goals and 14 of 24 three-point attempts. 

Kiley May poured in a season high 18 points on 4 0f 4 shooting from beyond the arc, and added eight rebounds and five assists. Ali Schirmer finished with 13 points and five assists, and Aida Santana Martin finished with 11 points and five assists. Off the bench, Annie Santucci chipped in with 13 points and three rebounds. Tiffin distributed the ball well, compiling a season high 20 assists.

The Dragons move to 7-14 overall and 3-10 in the GLIAC.
