Tiffin University's experience in Houghton, Michigan was soured on Saturday afternoon by No. 13 Michigan Tech University 79-42. The Huskies' success from long range spelled the end for the Dragons as Michigan Tech held a 33-9 advantage in points from beyond the arc.

The Dragons jumped out to an early lead in the opening quarter, holding a 9-3 advantage with 07:08 left in the quarter. Michigan Tech wasted little time in making up ground on Tiffin, finishing the quarter on a 20-2 run to hold a 23-11 lead after a quarter of play. 

Michigan Tech scored the opening five points of the 2nd quarter to hold a 28-13 lead. The number 13 team in the nation continued to add to their lead, pushing their advantage to an even 20 points at 41-21 with 02:36 left before halftime. When the final horn of the first half sounded, Tiffin found themselves trailing 46-21.

Tiffin saw little success in the 3rd quarter, netting only 10-points on 4 of 12 shooting from the field. The Huskies doubled up Tiffin with 20 points on 50% shooting from the field. The Dragons managed only 11 points in the final quarter as the Huskies added 13 more points to their game total to topple Tiffin 79-42. 

Ali Schirmer led Tiffin in scoring, netting 16-points, 38% of Tiffin's total output. It is the 5th consecutive game in which Schirmer has scored 10 points or more. Ali hit 50% of her three point attempts, being the only Dragon to hit from beyond the arc.

The Dragons fall to 5-10 overall and 1-6 in the GLIAC.
