The Tiffin University women's basketball team fell to the Davenport University Panthers 58-53 on Thursday night, with 28 of the Panthers 58 points coming in the paint. Davenport also held an 11 rebound advantage, leading to 15 2nd chance points.

It was a rough go offensively for both teams in the opening quarter, as the Panthers managed only four points while Tiffin did score 11. The Panthers flipped the script in the 2nd quarter, scoring 20 points while holding Tiffin to 13. Of Davenport's 20 points, 14 came in the post. The Dragons' offense didn't play bad in the 2nd quarter, knocking down 5 of 10 field goals including two triples, but the defense let Tiffin down as they headed to the halftime locker room tied 24-24.

In the 3rd quarter, Tiffin found their stroke again, hitting 3 of 4 three attempts and 58.3% of their field goals. Tiffin pushed their lead to 36-30 at the midpoint of the quarter, but the pesky Panthers hung around and pulled to within a point at 42-41 headed to the final quarter.

In the final quarter, Tiffin's offense hit a cold snap, allowing the Panthers to start the quarter on a 5-0 run. Tiffin hit a few buckets to tie the score 46-46, but Davenport remained hot from the field, nailing 50% of their shots in the quarter while holding Tiffin to 5 of 16 from the field. The Dragons had chances in the final minute, but the Panthers went 4 for 4 from the charity stripe in the last 38 seconds of game action to seal a 58-53 comeback win.

Tiffin falls to 3-5 overall and 1-2 in the GLIAC. The Dragons were led by freshman Jensen Hiegel with 15 points on 6 of 8 shooting from the field. Madison Jackson was the only other Dragon in double figures, netting 10 points.
