It was the tale of two halves for the Tiffin University women's basketball team on Thursday night, as Tiffin managed only 25 points in the 2nd half while surrendering 50 points to the Ferris State University Bulldogs in falling 82-62. 

Tiffin had the hot hand in the opening quarter, scoring 18 points to hold a four point lead over the Ferris State Bulldogs. The Dragons were hot from the perimeter, knocking down 5 of 9 1st half three point shots. Tiffin continued to burn the nets in the 2nd quarter, opening the quarter with a 10-4 run to hold a 28-18 lead. The Dragons maintained their lead, pushing further ahead at 35-24. Ferris State used a quick 8-2 run to close the gap, trailing 37-32 at the half.

Allie Miller led Tiffin in scoring after two quarters of play, netting 10 points on 4 of 6 shooting with two made triples. Tiffin's bench made great contributions, scoring 20 of the Dragons' 37 1st half points.

The 3rd quarter was the beginning of the end for Tiffin as the Bulldogs charged out of the locker room to score 25 points. After a solid opening half offensively, Tiffin hit the skids, scoring 15 points. Even with the struggles, Tiffin still maintained a 45-40 lead with six minutes left in the 3rd quarter. Ferris State quickly erased their five point deficit, finishing the quarter on a 17-7 run to lead 57-52.

Tiffin's downward spiral continued in the 4th quarter, as they scored a game low 10 points in the quarter. The Bulldogs offense continued to churn ahead as they duplicated their 3rd quarter effort with 25 more points. At the final buzzer, the Dragons fell to 2-4 overall with an 82-62 loss.

Tiffin's offense saw their shooting percentage drop by 24.8% in the 2nd half, as they connected on only 8 of 26 shot attempts. Rebounding was an issue for Tiffin as the Bulldogs held a 43-27 lead on the boards, enabling Ferris State to score 32 points in the paint. Tiffin's 27 turnovers were a season high and led to 45% of the Bulldogs' offensive output.

Allie Miller led the Dragons, compiling 14 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, and 4 steals. Ali Schirmer was the only other Dragon in double figures, finishing with 13 points.

Tiffin is now 2-4 overall and will be back in action on Saturday against Lake Superior State University.
