Thirteen-time NCAA Division II All-American and former Cross Country and Track & Field standout James Ngandu (’18) will be toeing the line at the World Athletics Gold Label Marathon, Chevron Houston Marathon Sunday, Jan. 16.

This year marks the 50th Anniversary for the Chevron Houston Marathon, but this will be the first time the former Tiffin University National Champion will be tackling the 26.2 mile (42 kilometer) distance.  While this will be his debut at the marathon distance, Ngandu has high hopes. “The expectation is to show up and be at my very best,” said Ngandu.

His best is what will be needed if he is to have success against runners from all 50 states and 55 countries that will be represented.  Tiffin University's most decorated distance runner begins his test of fitness on Sunday at 7:01 a.m. (Central).
