Burrows, Curtiss, McCurdy named CoSIDA Academic All District

Cameron Burrows, Nikolas Curtiss, and Lloyd McCurdy all earned selection by merit of their athletic and academic accomplishments last season.

Cameron Burrows was named GMAC Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year. He was GMAC Champion in the long jump, a prelude to his winning the NCAA Division II National Championship in the same event. He also took 4th in the pole vault at the GMAC Championships. Coupled with Burrows's 4th place finish at Nationals in the high jump, he has now totaled 10 All American honors in track and field, including 7 in the high jump. He also has 3 All American honors in the long jump. Burrows also has three GMAC outdoor championshps, having also won the high jump and long jump in 2019.

Nik Curtiss was a top performer for Tiffin this season with a second-place finish at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Nationals in the shot put. He qualified with a mark of 19.78m. Curtiss has a total of seven All American honors in his career. He also finished as national runner-up in shot put at the NCAA Indoor Championships in March.

Lloyd McCurdy had a fifth place finish in the triple jump at the NCAA Outdoor National Championships with a leap of 15.35 meters. This marks the first All American honor of McCurdy's career. He was also a First Team All GMAC selection and won GMAC titles in the triple jump and javelin.

The 2020-21 Academic All-District® Men's Track and Field/Cross Country Teams, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletic competition and in the classroom. The CoSIDA Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
 
First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early August.
