Burrows Named GMAC Field Athlete of the Week

GMAC Release

INDIANAPOLIS - The Great Midwest Athletic Conference (GMAC) has named Tiffin's Cameron Burrows as the Field Athlete of the Week for competition spanning Dec. 2-8.

At the Boo Rogers Combined Events meet in Pittsburg, Kan., Burrows shone with two NCAA automatic qualifying marks and another NCAA provisional mark. During the heptathlon, the senior achieved the top high jump mark in the nation for all divisions from the opening weekend of the indoor season with a jump of 2.19m (7' 2.25"), which is an automatic qualifying mark and also breaks his own Tiffin and GMAC record.

Overall in the heptathlon, he totaled enough points for his second automatic qualifying mark of the weekend with a score of 5381. In the long jump portion, he also earned a provisional mark with a leap of 7.24m (23' 9"). Burrows finished third overall at the meet in the heptathlon.

In his career, Burrows is an eight-time NCAA Championships qualifier (five indoor, three outdoor) and seven-time All-American (four indoor, three outdoor). With the two automatic qualifiers into this year's indoor championships already secured, Burrows will look to add to those totals in Birmingham in March.
