Men's Track squad shines at Kent State Open
Tiffin University's men's track team had a number of standout performances at the Kent State Invitational, hitting an automatic and ten provisional marks along the way.
 
The Dragons were led by Nikolas Curtiss, who hit an automatic NCAA qualifying mark with a big throw of 18.49 meters to win the shot put. Curtiss also hit a provisional mark (17.95m) in the weight throw by placing 8th.  
 
Jabari Bennett placed 2nd in the shot put with a provisional mark of 17.69m while Eric Jackson placed 4th with another provisional mark (17.01m).
 
Toryko Grace kept the highlight reel going in the field events, as he placed 4th with a provisional throw of 19.73m in the weight throw. Tristen Durr also hit provisional marks in the weight throw, finishing in 5th place (19.12m). Collin Jasin also finished 5th in the pole vault, hitting another provisional (4.91m). 
 
TU's track squad brought four more NCCA marks. Jonte Baker won with a provisional mark of 6.86 in the 60 meters while Tajarie Arthurton got 2nd and hit a provisional mark in the 60-meter dash with 6.87. Arthurton also placed 3rd in the 200 meters, posting a time of 21.83.
 
Zion Cross crossed the finish line after Tajarie in 60m and hit another NCAA mark (6.88). Drew Hickman won in 400m and brought another provisional mark in 48.48.
 
Other top finishers included Errik Snell finishing runner up in the 60m (8.25) and Wavell Hinds finishing 4th in the 60 meters.  Steven Mintz (4th in triple jump) and Collin Engbrock (4th in Pole Vault) also posted solid marks.
