Davis Bowers has been named G-MAC Field Athlete of the Week.

Bowers set the pole vault record in the Great Midwest for the third time this season to continue a friendly back-and-forth rivalry with Cedarville's Tommy Ansiel.
 
This time, Bowers bested Ansiel's previous conference best at the Pittsburg State Invitational as he cleared 5.14 meters (16' 10.25").
 
He finished tied for fourth in the competition, which was held at the site for this year's national championship meet. Bowers' previous season best was 4.96m cleared at the SVSU Holiday Open. 

Bowers is now tied for fourth nationally among all Division II pole vault specialists. 
 
Bowers is one of four pole vaulters to provisionally qualify for nationals along with Ansiel, Findlay's Gabe Makin and Hillsdale's Ben Raffin.
