TU 800 free relay team shatters school record in day three highlight

Tiffin University's 800 freestyle relay team shattered the school record and won the GMAC/MEC title as day three concluded at the GMAC/MEC Swim and Dive Championships.

The team of Nick De Robles, Christoph Hohenfeld, Jonah Sumfleth, and Miguel Garcia posted a new TU record time of 6:46.98, just shy of the GMAC record. 

Garcia also picked up another title in the 200 butterfly, winning in 1:50.41 over teammate Yun Hung Tan who finished in 1:52.08.

The two wins helped TU maintain its spot in 2nd place heading to the tourney's final day on Feb. 15. Findlay leads the way with 1113 points while TU has 832. Malone remained right on the Dragons' heels with 798.

Tiffin also had three runner-up finishes. Sumfleth was second in the 100 backstroke in 50.17, while De Robles took silver in the 500 free in 4:40.07. Hohenfeld also was second in the 100 breaststroke in 56.03.

Two other Dragons finished in the top 11 in the breaststroke, as Aubin Dulin was 6th in 58.93 and Nathan Marr was 11th in 1:00.50. 

Joseph Turley also took 11th in the 500 free in 4:56.59.
