Men’s Soccer Battles Ashland, Lake Erie

The Tiffin University men's soccer team will face Ashland on the road on Thursday with a 6:30 p.m. kickoff and then host Lake Erie on Saturday at 2:30 p.m.

Dragon Details:

The Dragons went 1-1 last week with a 3-1 win over Northwood.

The Dragons' offense is led by GMAC Player of the Week Mounir Boutarfa who has scored two goals so far this season, all against Northwood. Joel Daly and Carlos Castrejon also found the back of the net each, scoring one goal. 

In goal for the Dragons will be Declan Lehman who played all 284 minutes this season and recorded 11 saves with a .688 save percentage. 

 

Scouting the Eagles:

The Eagles are 0-2-1 through three games with losses to No. 4 UIndy and No. 12 Gannon.

The leading goal scorer for Ashland is Justin Libertowski with two goals this season. Brandon Davidson and Kieran Paterson also got on the score sheet with one goal each. 

In goal for the Eagles is Brett Robinson who has started all three games and registered a 1.86 GAA, 13 saves, and a .684 save percentage.

The Dragons lead the all-time series against the Eagles 16-7-2, with their last meeting coming on October 4, 2017, when the Dragons won 4-1.

 

Scouting the Storm:

The Storm went 1-1 in the Tiffin round robin tournament last week, beating Saginaw Valley 1-0. 

Lake Erie's offense is led by Gio Monteiro Da Costa and Tom Pearson, each with one goal this season.

The Dragons lead the all-time series against the Storm 11-2, with their last meeting coming on April 15, 2021, when the Dragons won 3-2 in overtime.
