Men's Basketball Keeps pace with Butler, falls 75-65

The Tiffin University men's basketball team fell 75-65 to D1 Butler.

Butler started the game strong, jumping out to a 14-3 lead in the first five minutes of the game. Both teams went on a four-minute scoreless drought until Wesley Jordan scored a layup to spark a 7-2 run from the Dragons to cut Butler's lead to 20-14 with 8:10 left in the first half.

Tiffin chipped away at the Bulldogs' lead and brought the score to 24-20 with 5:45 left in the first half. Butler put together an 8-5 run to take a 32-25 lead into halftime.

The Dragons came out of the break strong with a 5-0 run to bring the score to 32-30. Tiffin kept up with the host and took a 38-37 lead with a 5-1 run. Butler responded with a 9-0 run to lead 46-38 with 14:06 left in the game.

The Bulldogs extended their lead to 71-56 with 2:03 left in the game, but Tiffin had a late surge, outscoring Butler 9-4 the rest of the way for a final score of 75-65.

Wesley Jordan led the Dragons with 12 points going 6-for-12 from the field, with seven rebounds, and one assist, Trent Williams scored ten points shooting 3-for-8 from the field, two rebounds, two assists, and one steal, and Joshua Rivers tallied ten points shooting 4-for-6 from the field, with five rebounds, two assists, and one steal.
