Dragons fall in rematch at Ashland 86-68

Tiffin University could not follow up their thrilling overtime victory vs. Ashland on Feb. 2 with a win on the road, as the Eagles got revenge 86-68.

The Dragons (8-13, 3-10 GMAC) opened strong, posting a 20-11 lead after the 12:00 minute mark of the first half. The Eagles, however, took control after that, using a scoring drought by the Dragons to key a 34-9 run over the rest of the half to take a 16 point lead into the halftime break with a 45-29 lead.

The Dragons trailed by around 20 points for most of the second half, trailing 69-48 with just 8:00 remaining, but the Dragons had a run left in them. TU rallied for an 18-5 burst that pull them to within 8 points 74-66 with 2:35 to play.

TU could get not closer, however, as AU finished on a 12-2 run to put the game away.

Overall the Eagles stayed hot from the floor, outshooting TU 52 percent to 44 percent. They also dominated inside with a 37-23 rebounding edge along with a 46-28 paint scoring advantage. They forced 15 TU turnovers and had an 11-2 margin on second-chance points.

Morgan Taylor led TU with 15 points, while Tylin Lockett-Fuller had 13 points and 5 rebounds. Wesley Jordan also reached double figures with 12 points and 6 rebounds.

Tanner Johnson and Dalaino Walker had 9 points each, while Trent Williams also finished with 8.
