TU unable to mount second-half comeback in 87-69 loss to Storm

Tiffin University (7-12, 2-9 GMAC) was unable to complete a second-half comeback against Lake Erie, falling 87-69.

The Dragons and the Storm battled throughout a narrow first half that saw the two teams stay within a shot of each other until the 8:44 mark. With Lake Erie leading 25-22, the Storm put together a quick 8-2 run that boosted their lead to 9 points. They led at the half 49-39.

After pushing their lead to 54-39 with 18:00 left, the Dragons started their comeback. They mounted a big 16-5 run that brought them to within 59-55 with 12:00 left.

Lake Erie regrouped and responded with a massive 16-2 run that blew their lead out to an 18-point margin with 6:30 to play. The Dragons were unable to get back in it after that point.

The Storm shot 56.9 percent from the floor while holding TU to 36 percent while also controlling the paint. Lake Erie outrebounded TU 43-32 while outscoring them in the paint 50-30. They also got a 32-11 edge from their bench.

Morgan Taylor led the team with 20 points and 4 assists, while Tanner Johnson also had 16 points. Tylin Lockett-Fuller nearly had a double-double with 15 points and 9 rebounds, but no one else had more than 6 points in the game.
