Late first half run holds up in 79-66 win over ODU

Tiffin University (6-11, 2-8 GMAC) used a late first-half run to pull ahead of Ohio Dominican and never looked back, winning 79-66.

With the game tied 18-18 with 10:51 in the first half, TU went on a 10-0 run to jump ahead by 10 points over a 2:00 span. They then closed out the half on a 17-8 burst that put them up 45-30 at halftime.

Any thoughts ODU had of getting back in it ended early, as the Dragons came out on an 8-0 run to push their lead to 23 points. TU prevented any Panthers' runs and kept the lead at around 20 points for the rest of the half.

Overall TU outshot ODU 43 percent to 40 percent and hit five more triples (11-6) than the Panthers. They also forced 17 ODU turnovers leading to a 15-6 edge in points off turnovers.

Tylin Lockett-Fuller led the team with 21 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists, while Trent Williams added 15 points.

Morgan Taylor also hit double figures with 12 points along with 5 rebounds and 6 assists, Tanner Johnson added 9 points with 8 rebounds, and Dalaino Walker finished with 7 points.
