Stellar Second Half Pushes Dragons Past Panthers 65-52

Tiffin University used a strong second half to defeat Ohio Dominican 65-52.

The Dragons had a great second half, outscoring the Panthers 44-26 and shooting 40 percent from the field and 35.7 percent from three-point territory while the Panthers shots 33.3 percent from the field and 8.3 percent from beyond the arc.

The Dragons improve to 2-3 overall and 1-1 in conference play, while the Panthers fall to 1-7 overall and 0-2 in conference play.

The game started slow with the Dragons building a 7-5 lead through the first six minutes of play, but the Panthers went on a 5-0 run to lead 10-7 and extended their lead to 15-8.

The Dragons responded with a 9-2 run to tie the game at 17-17 with 5:11 left in the first half. ODU went on an 8-2 run in the next three possessions to lead 25-19. The game was slow the rest of the first half as ODU went into the locker room up 26-21.

Coming out of the half Ohio Dominican went on a 6-3 run to lead by eight at 32-24, but the Dragons went on an 18-3 run midway through the second half to lead 56-42. The Dragons held their lead the rest of the game to win 65-52.

Morgan Taylor led the Dragons with 16 points shooting 5-for-11, five rebounds, two assists, and one steal. Three Dragons were second on the team in scoring with eight points. Tanner Johnson recorded eight points shooting 3-for-9 from the field and 2-for-8 from beyond the arc, grabbed nine rebounds, one steal, and one block, Wesley Jordan scored eight points shooting 4-for-5 from the field, nabbed two rebounds, one steal, and one assist, and Luke Johnson tallied eight points in his first appearance in a Tiffin uniform, shooting 2-for-4 from the field and 4-for-5 from the free-throw line, and had one assist.
