Dragons fade in closing minutes 87-76 to Cedarville

Tiffin University (1-3, 0-1 GMAC) came back numerous times against Cedarville but faded in the closing minutes, falling 87-76 in their conference opener.

With both teams struggling from the field early, Cedarville eventually took a 10-2 lead after 13:00. The Dragons quickly responded, exploding behind the bench spark of Tylin Lockett-Fuller's 3-point shot to go on a 23-5 run that put them ahead 25-15 with 5:22 left in the half.

The Yellow Jackets pulled themselves together for a late run at the end of the first half, going on a 15-5 burst to pull to within 35-30 of the Dragons at halftime.

Cedarville wasted little time early in the second half taking the lead back, opening with a 20-8 run that put them ahead 50-43.

Again the Dragons came back, stringing together an 18-11 run that tied the game 61-61 with 10:00 left.

Trailing 68-66, the Dragons could not keep pace with CU, as the Yellow Jackets closed the game on a 19-10 run to put it away.

Overall CU outshot TU 46 percent to 37 percent and outrebounded the Dragons 49-35.

Lockett-Fuller led the team with 19 points, while Tanner Johnson had 16 points and 8 rebounds. Dalaino Walker had 13 points with 7 rebounds, while Braxton Foreman had 12 points and Morgan Taylor 9.
