Tiffin University put up another tough fight in their 94-84 exhibition loss at Butler.

The Dragons battled Butler throughout a close first half. Trailing just 28-24 with 7:21 left in the half, Butler put together a 23-13 run over the remainder of the half to lead 51-37 at the half.

The Dragons kept battling, though. Trailing 71-55 with 12:00 to play, TU ripped off a 11-0 run to pull within 5 points with 9:29 to play.

A Thomas Hickman jumper brought the score to 75-71 with 6:56 to play, but Butler held on, closing with a 19-13 run to put the game away.

Continuing on their hot three point shooting from the Bellarmine game, TU scorched the nets for 15 of 29 shooting from three (51.7 percent).

The game, which saw 12 ties and 8 lead changes, saw both teams hot from the floor, as BU shot 57 percent and the Dragons hit at a 51 percent clip.

Butler controlled the paint, holding a 37-23 rebounding edge along with a 50-28 scoring edge inside.

Overall Tanner Johnson led with 21 points and 5 rebounds while hitting 7 of 8 trey attempts. Tylin Lockett-Fuller also had 17 points with 4 for 5 accuracy from three.

Ian Lopez had 13, Morgan Taylor had 11, Dalaino Walker totaled 9 points with 5 rebounds, Wesley Jordan had 7 points, and Hickman finished with 6 points and 10 assists.
